 This year Bridget would like to do more with her passion for fishing. She has teemed up with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to assist them in their never ending endeavors for financing continuing research. Through the extensive research that has been done the CFF has developed a viable drug treatment that could potentially extend the lives and possibly even CURE the victims of Cystic Fibrosis. Annually 30,000 people are suffering with Cystic Fibrosis. While this number is quite large and devastating to those 30,000 families and friends, in the eyes of the major drug companies and research centers this is a low number unworthy of major research and drug development. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation therefore is responsible for all primary research into the eventual cure for this dreadful disease. Through their efforts those living with Cystic Fibrosis now have an expected life span of 30-40 years. With continued research the foundation hopes to not only continue finding way of extending life but of improving the quality of those years. |
