Bridget Allen didn’t grow up knowing she was going to be a professional angler. Quite the contrary. She grew up knowing exactly what she was going to do with her life, the same thing her father had done, her Uncle and several Cousins. Hers was a family of Police Officers dedicated to the public and Bridget was no different. She served happily and faithfully on the Philadelphia Police Force for 11 years. However, in 2006, while on duty she was seriously injured. On disability leave from the force Bridget is facing the reality that she may never be on active duty again.

With this devastating development Bridget turned to her childhood pastime during her time of recovery, fishing; a joy that was encouraged throughout her upbringing with innumerable family fishing trips. It did not take long for her competitive nature to take over and turn her relaxing past time into a competition at which she could excel. She began signing up for local tournaments, doing well in those she went on to sign as a co-angler in the 2007 BASS Women’s Bassmaster Tour. While she competed well, what she gained the most that first competition was a better understanding of the competitive world of professional fishing. In 2008, after purchasing her own boat, she signed up again for the WBT. With a rough start at the first tournament, weighing with no fish, Bridget knew she had to step up the game. Step it up she did. As the tournaments continued Bridget came into her own and became a force to be reckoned with despite her rookie status. Bridget ended her season with a standing of 33rd in a field of 106 pro Anglers, narrowly missing the cut for the Championship Tournament.

This year Bridget would like to do more with her passion for fishing. She has teemed up with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to assist them in their never ending endeavors for financing continuing research. Through the extensive research that has been done the CFF has developed a viable drug treatment that could potentially extend the lives and possibly even CURE the victims of Cystic Fibrosis. Annually 30,000 people are suffering with Cystic Fibrosis. While this number is quite large and devastating to those 30,000 families and friends, in the eyes of the major drug companies and research centers this is a low number unworthy of major research and drug development. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation therefore is responsible for all primary research into the eventual cure for this dreadful disease. Through their efforts those living with Cystic Fibrosis now have an expected life span of 30-40 years. With continued research the foundation hopes to not only continue finding way of extending life but of improving the quality of those years.

Having seen the devastating effects this disease has Bridget Allen is committed to helping the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in their worthy endeavors. Bridget has rallied her current sponsors together to help raise money dedicated toward CF research. Bridget is looking for additional sponsors to help in her continued campaign. Sponsors will be branded in all aspects of her media exposure. Website, Boat Wrap, and Jersey placements are just the beginning, offering sponsors continued media exposure linked with this worthy cause.
